Legalities, strobes and whatever

To settle some of the hoopla about the strobes and flashy lights, keep in
mind that if it were lawful for private citizens to utilize strobes and
sirens, someone would have already exploited the idea and everyone would
have them. That's why everyone has the amber hazard lights. Think about
it. For Tim in Virginia, remember that it is a judge you will have to
convince about the taillight covers if you're ever ticketed. The judge
knows all the law anyway. Of course you could hire the O.J. Dream Team and
spend a lot more than the $40 bucks you plunked down for the covers in order
to create new case law.

There is a good site for laws in each state at this address:
http://www.findlaw.com/casecode/state.html

And for the virginia boys and their daks:
http://www.findlaw.com/11stategov/va/laws.html

In the search bar, type in "headlights" or "taillights" and you should be
able to find what you are looking for. You may have to root around in the
case law section some to find out how most laws are applied. In essence,
unless you are authorized to operate an emergency vehicle as defined in
these code sections, just don't do it. The headlight covers are simple.
Take them off at night or whenever the use of headlights are required.

Just my $2.68 worth.
