Yes, the ram air openings are functional. As for where the air is
directed, I can only speculate based on the pictures. It looks like the
ram air on this hood would generate a lot of fresh air into the engine
compartment, focusing the majority of it towards the TB. I certainly
can't say for sure, though. I do think it is safe to say that the ram air
openings will definitely allow more fresh air into the engine compartment
than the stock hood.
As for an air box ... No, there is none provided with this hood.
