I have to ask a question. I have a friend who other friend whom I know
but not that well owns an exhaust shop. Anyways, they do not have a
mandral bending machine so they do it the old fashioned way. They are
really popular with the hot rod crowd, especially with classic and
custom cars. I havn't had the chance to ask what the material is but I
know for a fact that they never have a problem with the pipes rusting.
They told me that they will do an exhaust for me with a flowmaster or
eqivalant muffler for $175. What i'm thinking of doing is having them
rum 2 3/4" or 3" tubing from the cat back and using a muffler that has a
dual exit and having them exit on the pass side corner at a 45 degree
angle with a couple of chrome tips turned and the two pipes stagged so
the tips line up with the truck. My question after all of this
is....will the larger diameter pipe going thru the double outlet muffler
make up for the restriction form the non-,andral bends? I figure that
from the cat back and by keeping them to that side there would be feww
bends. I would use a single exit muffler but I don't think I can get it
in the right OD to keep the exhaust from being restrictive. Sorry for
the long post but any opinion would be helpful.
