John,

I scanned in the relevant section for adjusting the bands on a '98 42/44RE
tranny... I had to use grayscale instead of OCR on two of the pages (couldn't
get the FSM to lay flat enough) but it is legible. If you want it send me your
email address. It's about 1 mb in size and is in MS Word 2k format.

A word about this adjustment though... Unless your tranny is acting up
(particularly in the 1-2 up or 3-2 down shifts) a front band adjustment is
probably not necessary for routine maintenance. For the rear band, if your not
having any problems in reverse it's the same deal... You will also need a
special tool if you do want to go ahead with this.

Hope this helps.
Tom

Can someone with the FSM for a 98 Dak please post the procedure for adusting
the bands in the tranny. My truck is long overdue and I would like to do it
soon. Also please post the listed socket sizes, which one needs to be an
eight point and where the adjusting nuts are located along with the
description so I don't go adjusting something that doesn't need it :)

Thank you in advance,
John
