Motec (www.motec.com) makes an Engine Control Unit that is make/model
agnostic and is supposed to be the absolute best there is in terms of
flexibility, but it takes a boat-load of time to get it working right.
I've read articles where folks have had to modify many of the sensors to
get them within the valid reading range for the ECU.

But, many of the guys who drag race high-boost turbo vehicles (the late
model Supra's and RX-7's) swear by them, and some are running 25+lbs of
boost from stock blocks and cranks. The ECU's gotta be pretty good to
let those guys get so close to the ragged edge of blowing the block to
schrapnel.
