The Intense Performance piece was $190-240, depending on what filter,
ceramic coating on the pieces to reflect heat, etc. That said, I think
Bernd and my engineer's brain have talked me out of that piece and into a
Quick D with my own MIG fabbed airbox that takes advantage of air from
beside the radiator. The Intense piece features a spun aluminum canister
that clamps over the cone filter, with about 1/2" clearance all the way
around at the fat end of the filter, and 3" or so at the narrow end. Air
enters at the center of the cylinder, or straight into the end of the cone.
I'm a civil engineer, not a mechanical (Clay????), but it just seems like
it would be turbulent as all get out inside that canister, and smoother
flow is better.
Hope this made sense, it is WELL after beer:30 here in Pennsylvania, and it
has been a looonng week! Later all!
