It's main purpose is to hold up under the boost. 8# minimum. A stock air
hat has a tendancy to leak at the seams.

well, I was under the assumption that the Paxton airhat would flow better
than the factory one, then add the Quick D, which is said to flow just as
well as an Open Element (FIPK). If this were to work, then you'd
effectively have more CFM's comin' in. BUT... the Paxton airhat doesn'y
flow any better than the stocker, so it may not be worth the money unless
you really want the look of the Quick D in your pre-97...
