Attention happy DAK owners: called RAD Rides in IL yesterday and what a
surprise. He used a V-8 HEMI 528CID motor. According to him when DC rated
the engine at the dyno, it only pushed 605HP but with a carb. He remark that
at SEMA, he talked to a person who applied the same engine and with a fuel
injection and the dyno read 710HP. One heck of a strong motor. But for
those states with CA style emission, forget it. It will not work.
According to RAD the lesser motor 426 HEMI may make the cut but the idle is
like roller coaster ride. Now that reminds me of the days of the big block
Chevy and solid lifters and serious overlap CAM. At idle, the car would
vibrate from side-to-side.

On the crate motors, anything less than the 426 hemi engine will pass smog
control.

After 30 minutes call, I have learned they might be making the motor mounts
for the crate motors, along with the wiring harness, sump pan, specialize
headers, if there are if enough buyers. There are to many modification for
the motor to make it work. He remark, that the lesser crate, the 380HP 360
or the 4.7 (buy direct crate from DC) could be easily bored and modified at
a cheaper cost. No mods for the engine bay and easier on the consumer for
aftermarket items to fit.

Have not called Koller and Bill Thompson out of Glendale.
