Auto vs 5Spd GCWR Question

This had me looking at a '99 sales brochure for the Dak to see what my V6
has for standard Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR). I was surprised to
see that the auto has a 1300# higher gcwr! 7500# vs 8800#.

In the 318 the figures were quite different, 9500# for the 5 spd vs 9200#
for the auto.

Can someone explain this to me? I'm not asking for a doctor's thesis on
this now, just a decent explanation. Thanks, Cal
