Most people don't have about 3,000 dollars to build a stereo system. The
back is intended for rear fill (bass) only, but we're talking about low
budget systems here. Now... would you rather buy a 4" speaker which is
capable of NO bass.. or would you like to cut that hole out to haev the
ability to drop a bigger speaker in? 6x9? You can always cross out high
frequencies, but you can't always make the lower ones.

I mean. I'm just here to try to help. I said that's wht I'd personally
do.... As for me. I am fine with my 6.5" lanzar mid-bass speakers in the
rear and pioneer component up front. It serves me great. I do have a system
in my truck (although it's not the BEST thing out there. it satisfies me and
people who ride with me) Let's stop using the word IF around here...

If I wanted a fast truck. I'd do all my engine mods at once and say to hell
with it. Or IF maybe i could have purchased a v8 in the first place.. or IF
i had nitros. or IF etc....

It's all a different approach. Not everyone has the financial resources to
back up their hobbies. Hasn't dodge's new commercials taught you anything?

<< Trying to put larger rear speakers in the 87 and up reg cabs is a waste of
time.
There is not enough room and the baffling space available is poor. Besides
all
you want coming from the rear of the cab is bass. For proper stereo imaging
all
mids and highs should come from as far to the front as possible. The kicks
are
the best spot. High in the doors where the factory Infinity tweeters are
located
 is considered poor location.
All considering building a custom sound system in their trucks should visit
the
IASCA website to learn what I am trying to tell all or you! Anyone who has
built
prize winning systems will tell you the same thing. I've been in the auto
stereo
business since 1968! Listen and learn, don't guess. You will wind up
wasting
money, cutting holes in your truck and be dissatisfied in the long run.
