For anyone interested...
This data is from my Dyno test today (glad it was higher than my IQ)...
I have also compared stock filter box w/ K&N, Cone Filter, and
10" FABM.
a) Stock Air Box w/ K&N Flat Filter: 199.6 RWHP / 262 ft-Lbs torque
b) K&N Cone (with stock Air Hat): 204.8 RWHP / 264 ft-lbs torque
c) 10" Round K&N FABM: 205.3 RWHP / 265 ft-lbs torque
Although b) and c) were close there was about a 3HP difference spread
through all the gears except at "peak" in 3rd Gear.
Engine mods include Jet Stage II, Gibson Single Cat-Back, Gibson Shorty
Headers, Jet Underdrive Pulley Set (3), Quick D TB, MSD 8.5mm Wires.
A Previous Dyno did not include TB, Headers and Pulley. I got 192.8
RWHP
and 254 ft-lbs torque(w/ 10" Round FABM). That means I gained only
12.5 HP with TB, Headers and Pulleys!
I was hoping for 210 RWHP - but I'm happy with what I got (add back 25%
drivetrain loss - automatic - and I get around 256.6 HP).
Wait...I think I confused myself on calculating RWHP, here's why...
If I start with 230 Engine HP, a 25% loss will result in 230 * .75 =
172.5
OK, now take the 172.5 adding back 25% will not get me back to 230:
172.5 * 1.25 = 215.625. I will need to take 172.5 and divide by .75,
then
I will get my Engine HP - Right??
If this is true, then recalculations result in 273.7 Engine HP - I like
that better!!
Thank you all DML'ers - I appreciate all the information and help.
