Did the MOPAR chip removed the speed limiter?

I just received my Mopar Performance Computer today. According to the
instructions you must first install the computer before the VIN and mileage
can be entered. The instructions said this could be done by the dealer if
you so choose and would take apprx 30 min. After that you will recieve some
warning lights and those lights will remain untill the VIN and mileage are
entered into the new computer which takes 15 mins. So it sounds to me as if
I could install the computer and my truck will function fine except for a
few warning lights. Is this true? The reason i'm asking is that I am really
eager to use this chip and the soonest I can get an appoinment is two weeks
away, also it will eliminate the need for an installation of the computer
chip itself and save me some cash.
