I am in need of a little help, I have a 99 Dakota R/T that never came with the factory tow
package, and I was wondering if anyone has ever wired their truck for a trailer. I plan on using
my truck for occasional towing and need to install a 7-wire kit and a brake controller. Now would
it be possible to order the factory wiring package from the dealer, including the upgraded
heavy-duty flasher and fuses ect., or can I use a standard aftermarket wire-harness and is there a
way to connect it to the fuse box for my turn/brake signals ect. I really do not want to splice
into the factory brakes ect. as it is dangerous and will void the electrical warranty.
TIA for any info,
Dan Williamson
