Here's a post from the MML that I thought y'all might enjoy:

Subject: Dakota R/T creates a monster!

As Mopar-ites and torque junkies, we are sometimes vulnerable to becoming

slightly immune to what we regard as our usual daily fare: high
performance
vehicles/driving! We take for granted the effect that torque can have on
the

uninitiated.

Background: I've been in the auto sales business full-time less than a
year.

After 16 years of active duty as a Navy officer flyboy then intelligence

officer (still in reserves), I worked with a friend establishing a car
sales
business for him, then branched out on my own and opened my own car
dealership 2 weeks ago.

We learn something everday. In this business you see people from all
walks
of life and backgrounds. One of the vehicles I have on my lot for sale
is a
loaded solar yellow 1999 Dakota R/T club cab (it was my wife's daily
driver
for the last 6 months). A 27 year old lady dropped by my lot this
morning
and expressed a great deal of interest in the truck, based entirely on
the
styling, color, and amenities such as the killer stereo CD player. She
wanted a solar yellow Dakota club cab..she knew what such a truck
was...but
she didn't know R/T from SLT or anything.

I described what the R/T package is all about, but she expressed little
interest in that. She expressed much more interest in the color, the
stereo,

the forward visibilty and interior space. After discussing price and
terms
for a while, she decided that she would test drive the truck when earlier
she

said she was "just looking."

On I slapped a dealer tag, told her I'd see her in a little while, and
away
she went. The average test drive lasts for maybe 15 minutes max. 90
minutes

later she returned a changed woman, ready to sign away life and limb for
the
truck. It was the power! She couldn't get enough! Unbridled
enthusiasm!
All of a sudden she hated her Nissan Pathfinder...wanted to burn it.

She takes delivery of the R/T later this week, after she receives the
check
from her credit union.

Gotta like it!

Best regards to all, George Murray, Norfolk VA (business is WG Motors,
Suffolk, VA)
