I second Austin on this also. I have used Castrol 10W30 and Fram's PH16 oil
every oil change since I bought the truck with 13,700 miles on it. I change
the oil and filter every 3,000 miles. Typically, if I can get oil/filters on
sale, I can do a 4quart oil change with a new oil filter for around $7. I
had an oil analysis done on my Dak by Blackstone labs, and EVERYTHING can
back within the normal range, with alot of areas coming back in the great
range, no areas or signs were bad and needed attention. I just honestly
think it doesnt matter what kind of oil is used, as long as regular
maintenance is involved, an engine will last a long long time. Check out my
