I goofed on Cal's email address. It should be clhyer@hom.net
I know it's time to put the Jack & coke down when I make this
many mistakes :)

Here's a repost of Cal's problem:

Subject: Help, Loss of power...

I have a '99 V-6 auto 3.55 rear
Over the weekend I towed an empty motorcycle trailer (approx 500#) from
Tallahassee, FL to Byron, GA - 165 miles. On the interstate I could not
maintain 70 mph in OD. At times I could and it would pull small grades, 10
minutes later I could not maintain 70 on the level, or even pick up speed
going downhill! S-10's were passing me right & left towing similar trailers
with bikes on the back! That 100 miles on I-75 was just a constant 70 with
power to 60 w/o & back to 70 the whole trip.
I took the truck to the dealer yesterday. They put it on the computer and
claim that everything is in specs, that maybe I picked up a bad tank of gas.
It never pinged or clattered to indicate bad gas.
Tonight I hooked back up to the trailer. In order to go 70 I had to have my
foot on the floor, and it will not maintain 70, nor will it go much above
70!
I have hauled more weight than this in the bed with no problems. Help!
Help! Help!

Looking at the torque chart in the sales brochure, max torque should be in
the 2-3000 rpm range. 70 mph in OD is about 2200 rpm. Wouldn't that
indicate I should have plenty of power to spare here? I did replace the
muffler last week with a FloMaster 3 chamber, surely this did not do this?
Y'alls thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
