You can skip step 2 completeley...not required.
Also, to properly "burp" the system, after you've filled the radiator run
the truck until the t'stat opens. Rev the engine up to about 1500 RPM and
top off the radiator. This way, any air that was in the system will "burp"
out of the radiator.
