I'd buy the extended warranty, and get it looked at.

PS. I only have a 2wd Limited slip, but I don't notice that problem. I'll
look at future dakotas and durangos that pull into valvoline, but I'd say
that is not a common problem. Isn't powertrain warranty 7/70,000 miles?

He needs advice. The truck is just out of warranty, but he can buy a
12 month DC warranty for $580 which would cover the diffs.
