The 318 has a 3.91 bore and a 3.31 stroke
The 360 has a 4.00 bore and a 3.58 stroke
You can't bore the 318 block out that much.
The 360 crank has larger main journals. Yes they can be cut down but
you're not going in a cost effective direction.
You'd spend thousands to clone the 360 when you can match the output with
traditional mods that cost far less.

Subject: DML: 318 magnum and 360 magnum difference
| I have to ask this question. What exactly is the difference or
| differences between the 318 and the 360? Is the only difference the
| heads? And can the parts be interchanged? I know the intake, cam, and
| some othere items are but want the full specs on the differences. If
| it's just the heads can they be interchanged? Can you build up a 318
| into a 360? I know that these questions have been gone through before
| but I couldn't find any real answers in the archives. The only stuff I
| could find was some references here and there and then they would go off
| in another direction. I want to build up the motor in my dak to it's
| fullest potential and if the 360 is in that direction I want to take it
| but I need to know what are the differences and if it's a build item or
| if it's going to require a new block. Thanks
