Yes, Mercedes is a part of DaimlerChrysler. Daimler-Benz and Chrysler
"merged" (for all practical purposes, DB bought CC) and the new company
is named DaimlerChrysler. Mercedes is a part of it, along with Chrysler,
Dodge, Jeep, etc. and there are many other automotive and non-automotive
companies under this umbrella as well.)
