The front metal bracket that holds the leafspring to the frame is called the
hanger. The rear piece is called a shackle. Both should give you a 2 inch
drop EACH. so...

bolt on a hanger, you drop your dakota 2 inches

bolt on a shackle/shackle mount (97+ dakotas) and you get an extra 2" drop...

you should start with the shackle first if you want just 2" of drop, and the
hanger is like a "add on" for an additional 2".

<< Ok,

there is a set of "front hangers" on ebay right now.
the guy selling them said that he got the set from
Sport Truck Direct. He said that he got the
spindle/hanger kit for 2/4 drop. Okay...now he said
that he did not get shackles with that kit...but don't
the hangers and shackles come together and you get
1"-1.5"-2" with both hangers and then another 2" with
 the shackles?
