>>Well the 1" lowering coils from Western Chassis
are going in next week and I've been thinking
(worrying) about finding a good place to go to
get the front end realigned. I don't know the
first thing about wheel alignment, but after
looking at the front end. The only place I see
where it could be adjusted is inner and outter
Tie rods. Is this where they perform the adjustment
or am I way off base here? I was actually thinking
about watching the guy perform the alignment just
to make sure its done right. Is there anything I
should keep my eye on or is this a pretty basic
task? <<

Aiight GS...
vbe ready for a big steamin' plate of BS from alignment shops. If they
know it's been lowered, they will turn you away or charge you extra to do
the work.... my advice is pull up to the shop, don't tell em' anything
about lowering anything, and tell em' you need an alignment.
Here's what to look for. When the springs go on, it'll look like you have
negative camber... meaning you front tires look like this
/\
he will need to set your camber to about +1 degrees. If he knows his
stuff, he'll also adjust your toe-in accordingly so you get even tire
wear.
Mine is aligneed, and drives straight... but I can't seem to get my
camber adjusted more than -.4 degrees, so my front wheels look funny at
the right angle.
If you have questions about camber and toe in and stuff, check out your
owners manual. It's in there =)

hope this helps

from one secret agent to another =)
