I don't live near you and don't have a tank but I did replace mine with the
22 gal and will give you a couple of pointers. You do not need the straps,
or fuel pump. The straps for the 15 gal are exactly the same as the ones for
the 22 gal evan though dodge lists them as seperate parts. If your fuel pump
works fine you can use yours hust be sure to disconnect the battery when you
replace it. I didn't stupidly cause I got in a hurry and shorted out the
ignition realy causing my truck to shut off when it got hot. The factory
fuel pump has an adjustable bucket on the bottom half that is designed to
adust to difference in the depth of the tank (not really that much deeper
but longer in the front half). I would suggest getting a replacement gasket
for the top lip (dealer only item) This is also a good time to replace the
sock on the pump. I did and it was very easy to do. You can also use the
filler neck from your old tank if you need to. Again, they are the same. I'm
glad to see that you listed the model years since the gen II dak went
through three different designs on how the fuel pump attaches to the top of
the tank. Double check that you have the right tank. My tank has the twist
on coller to hold the pump on the older ones had a larger clamp that you
tightened like a hose clamp. Your pump might not have the sock but mine does
since it doesn't have the fuel filter inline. I saw a tmak from your year
and the one from mine was the same so i'm very positive about the straps.
It's an easy job only took me an hour. Sorry so long but hope this helps.
