So what does ethanol do as just an additive. I.E. It's supposed to replace
the MBTE additive in the N.E. and not to be run as pure fuel...
On another note, I thought the MBTE was what was killing my gas mileage during
the winter months but according to an Engineer friend of mine it's actually
some sort of anti-freeze additive that screws up everybody in the winter.

According to the Ferd web site (ducking to avoid the rocks), the advantages
and disadvantages of Ethanol/E85 fuel are:
"Advantages: high octane, slightly increases performance, renewable
domestic sources, similar refueling system for customers, certain emissions
reduced. Disadvantages: reduced driving range, much higher fuel cost,
slightly higher vehicle cost, limited public refueling sites, and increased
aldehyde emissions." -http://www.ford.com/default.asp?pageid=407#advandis
Dak content: I get her back this Friday! To the penny damage cost:
$9,185.43 Ouch!
