Hey guys, I was down at my local dragstrip where I usually spend my friday
nights, and there's been a guy over there w/ a club cab R/T for the last few
weeks running and I hadn't talked to him, But last friday, he was running a
200 shot of NOS and after running 8.91,8.95,&8.99, he made his 4th and final
pass.He tripped the lights at 8.99 again, but as soon as he hit the finish
line, the truck went boom! He said the hood started to buckle when the
cylinder haeds hit the bottomside and at that point the engine compartment
caught on fire.I couldn't see the truck at this point as he had managed to
pull off the track, but in a minute, here he comes, walking up the return
road, picking peices of his intake manifold out of his arm.The truck burned
to the back of the cab and was extinguished.Come to find out, the boy hadn't
had the truck long, it was a brand new 2000 w/aproxxamately 3000 miles on
it.Don't put NOS on your truck!!!! My freind's 98 318 5-spd truck was
running a 75 shot and it cut a hole in the valve the size of a nickel and
scorched a piston, but his was fixed under warranty!
