Ok, there was a little talk about this earlier and so i decided to look in
the manual to see what the real deal was.
Well, it says that the light will come on when there is 3 gallons or 11.1
litres of fuel left.
Mine will come on when it hits the 1/8 tank line. So after reading that
part of the manual when i saw the light i drove another 15 minutes or so
city, and got her filled to the very peak.
Thing is, my gauge now read about 1/16 tank, and i put just over 66 litres
in. So there was still about 17 litres in there--about 4.6 gallons.
So maybe they just want to give the drivers a little extra warning?
But i like to drain my tank almost completely dry, then fill it up. Makes
me feel like i spend less money on gas that way as there are fewer trips to
the pumps.
That, and i go across the Ambassador bridge to gas up. :)
