This may or may not be your catalytic converter, but when mine went out at
85,000 miles it rattled whenever the engine was running. Made my Dak sound
like a diesel truck. The internal components break down and break apart.
Cats are emission parts, so if your Dak has under a certain amount of miles
on it, the dealer HAS the replace the cat for free. I want to say emission
items are coverd for 50,000 miles, maybe even more. Good Luck,
