LOL! To NASCAR specs? Guess they'd have to rip off the fuel injection and
stick a couple of big 'ole carbs on there! Can anyone in NASCAR even spell
turbocharger? The twin-turbo Porsche is a 6 cylinder BTW...
Craig
P.S. No offense to the NASCAR guys, they do a great job to get what they get
given the rules.

Yea! So! I would stick with the 87,000 version Viper GTS and have it
modified by the ones who design and engineered the NASCAR vehicles for the
additional extra too my specs. Not only top end performance would be there
but add five turbo units (he he)-one turbo per two-cylinder. Remember the
Porsche twin for a four cylinder? Don't forget a killer suspension (quad
shock Bilstein with 30MM sway bars) and one of kind body panels. Then
through a quad side mounted exhaust system. with all around 20" tires with
13" of meat.
But then! For that much money, I would wait for the 2003 GTS-R Viper
(Street and Track version) for that much.

$145K for a "Stock" Viper is way high. They list at $85K for the ACR (hot
suspension setup), including the "comfort" group to add back in the radio
and air (www.4adodge.com). Add to that the Hennessey 650R motor for $37.5K,
Headers/Exhaust for $4.2K, big brakes for $4K and you have a 10.7 sec. (at
130+) car for $130K. Not that the Z8 isn't a nice looking piece, but hardly
competative in the performance/$$$ race...
On the weight front, the BMW site quotes the Z8 at 3495lbs. Dodge lists the
Viper at 3460lbs so the Z8 is no lightweight...

After reading the reviews on the Lingenfelter twin-turbo Corvette Stage II
vs TNT King Snake Viper, I decided neither one could do what I wanted to do.
The Corvette posted 13.6@106mph stock ($105,595.00) and 12.1@134mph with the
twin turbo & other mods.($107,632.00)
The Viper posted 12.2@118mph stock ($145,171.00) and 11.4@131mph
modified.($162,251.00)
I figure the best bang for the buck is the new BMW Z8 doing 13.0@111mph
stock ($135,362.00)
Put a couple of mods on there and you are well past the Viper at a
substantial savings.... Hell, if a double turbo can give the Vette 1.5
seconds and 28mph, think what it could do for a car that weighs in at
probably 1000 pounds less :-)
Now, If I could only win the lottery.....
