why are you going to run 10w6's?
if you want subs but not a system..i'll presume you may be on a budget
10w3's sound like a better choice for your installation, they sound the same
but don't handel the extreme wattage the w6's do
and prsuming a QUALITY amp costs about a dollar a watt and a 800 watt amp is
what i would choose to push 2 10w6's
your looking at some serious cash.not to mention you'd need to run a
capacitor with that many amps.
your best bet would be 10w3's with about 200-300 watts per sub (rms
power)<--very important
i think you'd be entirely happy with that setup as long as you run a quality
amp...i.e (not pyramid, jensen, ect) a few sugestions on a good amp are
rockford..PPI..alpine..
if you do plan on getting a new head unit..pioneer makes a factory
replacement unit (wich i run..and love)..that looks excellent
a few more tips if you plan on doing any thing else..
the wattage that a head unit says it puts out is B.S
all heads are way underpowered even on stock speakers
a small amp (200wats x4ch) is a good place to start for upgrading the rest of
your speakers
that crackling and noise that you hear when you turn up the volume all the
way probly isn't your speakers fault..it's most likely clipping and
distortion caused by under powering
but.. upgrading your factory speakers will add clearity and sharpness to the
sounds
ohh and to answer your original question...your local car audio dealer will
carry the little rca/wire kit that you hook up to run an amp off the stock
head unit
