There is no real performance difference between 3" side or dual cat back (both around 15hp) according to the recent research I have done. I am also about to do a dual cat back on my '99 CC. I personally think the dual looks a lot better. I have a SLT and the chrome tips will look good coming out the back. Also the stainless, although a lot more expensive is a lot better.
Good Luck,
Dennis

Dennis,
Sorry, I guess I need to clarify. This is dual exhaust from the cat back.
Not true duals from the headers. Another questions for you (or anyone) I
was told that their wasn't much of a difference in hp when you compare (from
the cat) the duals or 3" side exit. Does anyone have a thought on this?
Thanks,
Todd

I am not sure what you mean by dual exhaust but I have personaly seen a dual
cat back on a 97 Dak. If you are talking "true" dual with 2 independant
pipes and a 2 muffler system then either widen the stance to clear the tire
or put the mufflers behind the spare and use longer exit pipes like the dual
cat-back systems.

All,
A little long!
I know this has been discussed before, but I am still in a dilemma. I have
98 CC 4x4 318 Auto.
I want an exhaust that will give me maximum hp and sound healthy, but not
too healthy. I am looking at the Borla or Gibson. Any suggestions? I have
heard that you can't fit dual exhaust with the spare on the 4x4 is this
true? If so does the dual exhaust and the single side exhaust deliver the
same hp?
Also, is the aluminized Gibson going to rust out over the years or Should I
get the stainless? I live in Michigan and salt loves the metal.
Thanks for your help,
Todd

If you have emailed me about being interested in the
Borla Group Buy, you shall be recieving an email
within the next few days on what is going on. I shall
hopefully recieve all the info tommorow on pricing,
availability, and so forth. If you are interested and
have not sent me an email prior, please do so at
borlabuy@smokindakota.com.
Gibson Group Buy - -
Keith has asked me about a group buy. I need 10 people
to give you guys a good deal, excluding previous
orders. The buy is for the aluminized single side OR
Dual REAR. The stainless version and the dual sport
side would be a little more expensive. To be exact,
the stainless single side or dual REAR would be
$339.99 and the dual rear ALUMINIZED would be $289.99.
All prices DO NOT include shipping or CA sales taxes,
if applicable.
Have a good one,
=====
