Rich, that's a great story, maybe I can get the runner up position.

I bought some pre mag LA covers and installed the on my 95 using the cork
gaskets. The assembly went quick...hmmm
too quick...So I went to Portland to check out some differential parts in
the truck. As I was leaving the place, my usual
attention getter was my holeshot onto the main street to get in front of a
slow moving semi. I punched it and looked into my
rear view only to notice a big cloud of white smoke behind me. So I pull
over and pop the hood and oil had hit the manifolds, but was not dripping
anywhere. I rev'd the motor and oil shot out the gasket right onto the
manifold. Instant white smoke. No tools, no leatherman, and 10 miles to go
across the I-205 busy bridge back to Vancouver. One could have sworn the
Space Shuttle was going across the bridge!!!!!It got worse to where you
couldn't see behind me. I just knew the cops were gonna get me! People were
looking at me and thinking that kid ruined a perfectly good truck with that
scoop and messed up motor. Well I made it home and found out the cork blew
out to the side and put the rubber gaskets and stock covers back on. Rotten
day.

As for the easy out, they broke one on the lower holddown posts on the Space
Shuttle 2 days ago. I tryed to tell the older guy he needed to drill all the
way thru the siezed allen screw, but he insisted he new what he was doing
and chose an extracter the same size as the allen screw's recess for the
allen wrench. He stripped out the meat in the top of the fastener then the
extractor busted off only 1/16 into the seized part. He turned around and
just looked at me. You are aware that that extractor say's Titainium on
it? I mentioned...........

Hopefully this will help, try to always drill out 3/4 of the diameter as far
as the drill will go, even if you can go all the way thru.
The extractor should be as close to the rear of the seized/ stuck part as
possible if not past the end. Get as much of the extractor in the bolt as
possible, this is the key. Don't ever go half the way in, that invites
disaster, much less 1/16. Pay extra money for a quality set of extractors
preferably square, 4 post types. Hope this helps and lemme know if I made
the runner up ;^)
