Aluminized is better than stainless because of the following reasons --
- Stainless pipes are made from 300 series steel (rust resistant) BUT the weld line on the pipe and the welds that the shop will do now make the steel 400 series steel which can now rust -- GO FIGURE!!!!!
- Aluminized on the other hand is more rust resistant due to the fact that the aluminum coating attracts the "rust" (to long to explain)
so no matter if it is welded or scratched the aluminum coating works to attract the corrosion. Aluminum and magnesium are excellent ways to prevent rust. This is why they put magnesium blocks on ships hulls -- the magnesium rusts not the ship hull.
