Yep, I realize I'm going beyond where I should be with this
engine. :-) If the 4bbl ends up being too much for this engine, I am
fully prepared to put it back on the shelf and run with the 2bbl for a
while longer. I don't really want to spend any more money on the 318 as
far as internal parts and such go though. My current plan is to drop in a
360 which has been built to handle some decent power, then stuff some
serious air into it with twin turbochargers and an intercooler (well,
aftercooler, technically...). I will be using an aftermarket EFI system to
run everything. My "goal" (if I have one) ;-) is to build a daily driven
Dak which will reliably run 11's all day long. As far as the drivetrain
goes, my current NV3500 will be replaced with a beefy auto (maybe a 727,
but it must have an overdrive) with a manual valve body and a reverse
pattern. A beefy driveshaft will connect that to a strong (8.75, 9.25 or
Dana 60) rearend. Only one problem... I've only got about a grand in the
ol' checking account. ;-)
