You'll want to replace the wires, then the cap. Be sure to replace the
longest wires first. Once the wires are done, work on the cap. I like to
get some clothes-pins (the kind with the spring) and number them with a
magic marker 1 thru 8. Clip them to the wires to help you remember which
ones go where after you swap out the cap.
