Sounds like bad gas on that one. Definitely keep us posted on what finally
happens when you're back to your "Normal" fuel.

Bernd-
I just returned from a 1,000 mile + trip. My average gas mileage was
17.5 mpg. I filled up my tank after about 350 miles with the normal
regular unleaded that I usually get (except this was at an Exxon in
Virginia) Immediately (within 3 miles) my truck started pinging on
light throttle acceleration. The road was about the same (some flat
spots, some hilly areas) as it had been for the last 50 miles where the
truck never pinged. This condition continued until I filled up with
Amoco regular unleaded. The pinging did not disappear, but it was
noticeably better. This tank of gas got me home with 1/2 tank to
spare. I will keep my ears open for how it pings around here, and what
happens when I fill it up again with my normal brand and octane here at
home.

PS-my truck has NEVER pinged before!
