Hey everyone, I promised an update on the tranny repair....
Got her back this evening with a 2 page list of parts. Basically got a
brand new transmission in there.
I was wrong about having to pull the headers. They removed the y-pipe, and
replaced the gaskets there. I thought I needed a new cat, but that must
have been where the rattling was coming from. Sounds nice and quiet now. I
still think that's a cheesie way of sticking the customer with an extra cost
(97.50), when I would guess that a factory setup would have a y-pipe also,
and it would have to be removed to take the transmission out.
All in all, I'm glad to have my truck back so soon, and it's running great.
