You can go longer with synthetic but it isn't a bad idea to continue to
change it every 3000 miles. It isn't a ploy to get more money out of you. I
used to work for a Penzoil lube place before, and no matter what kind of oil
that is used we would recommend 3000 miles or 3 months (whichever was first).
Like I said though you can go longer.
