As long we are talking on that subject, I believe you can run a K&N cone
open air filter from the stock fitting. Take off the stock fitting from the
filter chamber to the passenger fender and what do you have. A 4 "
(measurement??) straight shot to the air hat. Go to JC Whitney and buy a 3"
x 4" aluminum piping and extended it from the straight existing tube to the
fender and then add a cone with a heat shroud. Wa la! Instant QuickD
version II for the 4.7. This would have no bends or L shape angles for air
turbulence going to the air hat. No one has tried it yet.

Subject: Re: DML: RE: 4.7 issues?
I haven't heard anything nor experienced anything bad about the 4.7
which I have one. I only have one complaint which is that the air
filter can't be replaced with a round open regular filter because it
comes up from the back at an angle. I have heard only second hand that
some of the plastic intake manifolds have had cracking problems but that
info came from someone I don't trust well, he could be jealous ? I
absolutely love mine, but only have 1750 miles on it so far.
Thanks,
Eugene
