The one up the street from my house, who had replaced the converter on my
wife's Jeep with a Catco, had asked for a reason. They replaced it but also
asked for a signature on the warranty card for the Cat up front and they
would send in the card. I guess they were just covering they butts. It
really shouldn't matter as long as the replacement is a "Factory
Replacement" part and not a different style. Example: 3-way without air
tube being replaced with a 2-way without air tube - Not a "Replacement
Part".

Do muffler shops really care about replacing converters when they are not
'bad'? I have found a local shop which will do the muffler install work, but
would also like to bring in a high flow converter at the same time and ask
if they could cut the cat and muffler off, and replace them with the new
ones I would bring in. I guess does it matter if a converter needs replacing
or not, just as long as I am running one, right??
