Now that sounds like fun. I may have to do that. I about to order the 18
for the Dak next month with a 305x35x18 rear and a 245x45x18 for the front.
But I wanted to switch the 3.55 to a higher number for a quick launch
against that damn Ferd Frightening vehicle we have here.

It's not that much and the 3.90 ratio would be better suited for the street
anyway (highway w/overdrive) as compared to 4.10's. The only reason I went
to the 4.10's was to keep my effective ratio somewhere reasonable for both
offroad and extended highway driving (3.65:1 is what I have with the 32"
tires and 4.10 gears).

However, a co-worker had 4.10's put in his '98 Sport 5.2L and changed the
tires to 245/60-15's. This puts his effective ration at close to 4.45:1
and his truck is quicker than sh** off the line and up to 115mph. (Gas
mileage suffered though) He hasn't tested it on the track but has already
run into two R/T's (No DML'ers...we checked) and has taken them without any
problems. All he has done is a modified TB, MSD, Jet-II, 180 T'Stat,
SplitFire Plugs, Headers, and a Flowmaster Cat-Back system...all simple
bolt-ons.
