Well, after a 6 week wait I'm expecting my new Colorado Custom wheels to
arrive tomorrow. I went with 17x8 fronts and 17x9.5 rears. I've pretty
much decided on a 275/50R17 tire for the rear. That should keep the
overall height fairly close to stock. I'm still uncertain about the
fronts, however. Has anybody tested the limits for tire width on the
front? The 17x8's will have a 5.75 backspacing.
I'm also still weighing different tire brands. Looking for a performance
tire. Goodyears are out. Too many bad experiences with them on past
vehicles. Any comments about brands with good grip, decent treadwear
ratings and good wet performance?
