Yes but by then the Road rockets will have closer to 400hp -- so once again the truck is behind

The difference between the Vette and the Camaro road rocket is 1 second. I
can only agree that statement - ROAD ROCKET. But be careful, the next Ferd
Frightening will have the same spec as your Camaro in both the 1/4 mile and
0-60 time.

Okay. Not to sound arrogant or elitest (because I'm not), but I feel the
need to defend the F-body in general...here I go with my $0.02 worth.

Not to refute or otherwise minimize your kill at all, but I guess on any
given day anything can happen. Personally speaking, my '99 Camaro SS LS1 M6
(vastly underrated at 320hp...more like 350hp) is a #%@&~! road rocket,
easily the fastest stock street car I have ever driven, bar none. Now, that
is not to say that this car is undefeatable - not at all. However, I know
when my wife is driving, it might be a mid-15 second car, easy prey for a
quick Dakota. On the other hand, if I'm driving, it is a mid/low 13 second
car that may not pull a Corvette, but he won't run away from me, either. Big

difference in performance, to say the least, simply by changing drivers.

All things being equal, any LT1 F-fody with a good driver can run mid/low
14's and LS1's turn mid to high 13's all day long. Most WS6/SS cars with the

LS1 easily run low/mid 13s (Last year, Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords
magazine took a bone-stock '99 SS to the dragstrip in a comparison with a
new Cobra 4.6 DOHC and pulled a 12.99 quarter mile STOCK! Nothing like
having your competition validate your claims for you...)

Again, not being elitest or snobby, but when you compare a pickup to a
sports GT car, well, there are trade offs...these cars are made to go fast
but have little carrying capacity or utility.

Okay, getting off my pedestal now. Congrats on the kill!
