Supposidly (from a valvoline employee) it has additives that help swell your
gaskets and makes them "wet" to help the seal, Seal better. that's about it.
We actually have this one particular minivan that comes in. old 90ish dodge
caravan and he burns about 2 quarts every week, and we always top him off,
anyways. we switched him over to the MaxLife oil and for the first 2 weeks,
he doesn't come back for a top off, and the 3rd week rolls by, he comes in
for the frequent "top off run" and when we checked his oil level, it was only
1/2 quart low... sounds like a winner to me.
but then..
there have been some cars that use the MaxLife oil that have not STOPPED
losing oil. it probably has to do with where or what the leak is.
