>>Dude, where do you live!? I'm getting my Y2K 3.9 beefed up with most of
that
stuff and they quoted me well over $2000(U.S.). That doesn't include
engine
removal and replacement (another $500). You're saying all that can be
done
for under $1500? This is my first time getting this done. Are they trying
to
rip me off? Help!<<

I live in Va... here is all I'm having done:
-rebuild (new gaskets and seals, typical machining, block hot-tanked,
crank polished, etc...)
-heads ported
-10:1 hypereutectic pistons
-Cam (was a Crane 2030, but going with something hotter now..
muaahahahaahahaaa)
-bored .025 over
-painted
-3 angle valve job
-long block reassembly

total cost: $1850
this is a Magnum 360. Most of the bolt-ons I'm using (ported tb, roller
rockers, MP valve springs & retainers, headers, exhaust, K&N, MP
computer) I've acquired myself through group buys or got them used. They
may be trying to charge you more for since it's a 6er. You should be able
to have most of the above work done under $1500. You could probably get
some pistons to up the compression ratio, port the heads, and have it
bored .030 over and make some serious power with that 6er for under
$2000. In my opinion, you're getting asked to bend over =( Shop around
some more and see what you can come up with.
