I own a '00 Durango with the 5.9L and am very happy. I ran it bare bones stock and it ran a 16.08 (check out my website www.geocities.com/papa_c_d/ ). With the 5.9L you have a lot more options when it comes to aftermarket parts. The 4.7 is still very new.
