Key word...Intercooler. Keeping the charge cooler also reduces detonation.

Because most Turbo motors are intercooled. But for the record while my 2000
4.7L dakota is naturally aspirated, I also have a 70' challenger convertible
with a centrifugally blown 340. It uses a top of the line ATI Procharger
with a
custom intercooler. The motor has 9.3:1 compression with edelbrock aluminum
heads. I run it at 15 PSI using 92 octane pump gas, and have never had any
problem.
