Tim,your problem really doesn`t sound like ball joints to me.It sounds
like the outer tie rods are worn or adjusted for too much toe-in.That
would cause the outer edge of your tire to scrub the road.I dunno,but
every time I`ve seen a car with shot ball joints,the wheel tends to lean
in at the top.I would think that`d cause the inside of the tread to wear
more.
