Ditto what Gene said.
And, if you are planning any extensive mods the higher gears will pay
off. Hotter cam, MPI/M1 intake, high flow exaust, ported throttle
body, all of these things will move your power band UP in the rpm
band. The higher gears will let you get the rpms up quicker.....
