The "thingy" in the back of the TB is the AIS (IAS...whatever they call it).
What part are you talking about that doesn't thread?

OK, Quick D TB came today, so I wasted NO time bolting it on. A couple of
questions though: The sensor on the back of the TB, the one with the
plunger, what's it for? Reason I ask is that I think it's broken. It won't
thread into the inner sleeve and I'm afraid it won't retract when it's
supposed to. I read somewhere on the list that you should clean it really
good before reinstalling it. True?
Also, did someone mention something about cleaning the intake manifold with
carb cleaner too?
Can't wait to see how the new TB performs. I reset the computer, neg batt
cable off, turn key for 15 seconds...thanks Bernd. We'll see.
