I think that is call "bump stear" and I have noticed it many times. I have
heard that happens because the effective length of the tie rod changes as
the wheel moves up or down.

Hello all,
I have a 2000 Dakota 4X4 ext. cab V8. I have been noticing that the truck
handles very rough on some types of bumps. For example if I were to start at
20 mph and speedup to 60 as if getting on an interstate and would hit a bump
as rounding the curve of the ramp the truck will seem to bounce
uncontrollable. Has this happened to anyone? This is the first time I
owned a Dakota and I am not sure is this is normal. Any advice would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
